CR1000a has a 6 Ghz 4x4 , 5 Ghz 4x4, 2.4 Ghz 4x4 radio, 10 Gigabit ports. Alien has 5 Ghz 8x8, 2.4 Ghz 4x4, 1 Gigabit ports. Based on the above and most peoples typical use, you will see no advantage of one over the other. You will likely see more advantages in the software that runs on them for things like parental controls or QOS.
