Even if the decayed weapon has the durability buff, you are better off getting that same buff on the pristine weapons. The only thing I am not sure about are the Zonai weapons. Since they are not decayed technically. But I always figured they would have similar durability as the Ancient Weapons in BoTW.
Tbh the infinite durability with the trade-off of being un-fusable is what the legit Master Sword should have been given the story, or at least give it the awakened state's 188 durability by default.
