Nov 5, 2017 · The big 'BRAKE' indicator is from the forward collision warning system. This flashes when that system senses something where it thinks you need to hit the brakes. From my experience with it (on a 2014 tech) it's fairly decent about not coming on when it shouldn't but it's not perfect. Or maybe they thought that when it gets hot, people wouldn't use the lane keeping assist system and lane departure warning? What a joke. I do get the lane departure warning but it doesn't seem to apply any torque to the steering wheel to nudge the car to the center of the lane like it's supposed to.
