I think Glocks are preferable if you only shoot Glocks, and XD's are preferable if you shoot a lot of different pistols. imo it's due to the Glock's grip angle being different than 85% (arbitrary number) of the rest of the pistols on the market, notably the 1911. XD's are also easier on small hands.

The felt recoil with the XD-9 Service and the Glock 19 is probably about the same, which is NEXT TO NOTHING. The main differences between the two is the grip angle and the fact that the Glock 19 is a more concealable pistol due to it's slightly shorter grip. Also, like the previous gun, the basic XD-S model comes with two magazines, an extended one (8+1) and a flush one (7+1). The single-stack gun holds 9mm rounds.
