Reason says that the serial numbers began at 1. That that is a guess. My M65 has 1692. Many different reasons could cause the procured amount to be different from the inventoried amount. Lost, stolen, broken/destroyed or just plain missed on the count. Odd that there is a 2,222 difference.

Depending which way I point the barrel, the serial number is either 68999 or 66689. The second is a .32 topbreak w/hammer serial 142298.
