While I don't have a 7-08 I have used IMR 4064 in .257 Roberts, .30-06 and .35 Whelen, in my experience it has given me better accuracy than Varget and RL-15. But who knows every rifle is an individual, might as well try Varget and RL-15 as they are good choices. They don't list the A-tip in the load data for the match, so I used 175smk data. Don't do that! 46.0 is max for 175smk @2.800 I loaded up to 45.6 with the 176 A-tip @ 2.875 This was way to hot & lost 2 of 5 primers. I had one Sako A1 that would shoot less than an inch at 100 yards for five shot groups at 2825 fps with 140 BT's. That was 48.0 grs and flattened primers. My other favorite 7-08 powder is IMR-4350. I know that to get the best performance out of these kind of bullets, you need to be on the higher end of in terms of velocity. I usually really like 140 gr Barnes TTSX (can't find any, anywhere) for my Savage 7mm-08 using 43.6 grains of RL-15 - good accuracy and no obvious pressure signs. I started at 41.5 gr and worked up in 1/2 gr increments. Haven't used RL- 17. 4. I would use neither of them for shooting a 150gr bullet in 7mm-08, especially for a hunting load. Better choices would be H414, or Alliant Power Pro 2000, or one of the 4350's. You'll get better case fill, and higher velocities.
