Basically it lets you get a regular 2nd level class feat instead of spending it on a multiclass feat. It's more limited since you can't use it for non-multiclass archetypes but is generally going to be valuable. Overall, though, I think rogue is the best multiclass for increasing thaumaturge DPR, followed closely by monk.

Some first thoughts: regalia thaum is now the best social build in the game right from level 1. archer dedication lets you take double shot + triple shot (at level 6) at which point you have a good chance of triggering weakness multiple times per turn. High feat tax though unless you're using free archetype.
