To me the difference in barrel length is a non-issue. For a few years, and many deers, i have been carrying a 23" barrel. It works good. However, in my opinion, the opening/closing latch on the Optima V2 is a way more better than the latch on the Wolf. My choice would be the Optima V2, because of the latch mechanism.581. I have an old CVA Optima Pro, similar probably to the wolf. The V2 has the longer barrel, for more accuracy and distance. I believe the breech is different. Most importantly, hold each and see which one "fits" the best. Mine was picky with powder and bullet combinations!
