Then you ask about Dandelion, at which point Menge will get paranoid and call the guards. There will then be a follow-up quest in which you'll learn the location of Dandelion.

I mean I read something that if you go the violent way Triss is mad at you and she may not help you later in the game /Brothers in Arms/ and asking about the treasure makes you fight eventually.
