Hello There Everyone! this is my first ds2 playthrough and i just obtained the Kings Ring. I have access to upgrading materail for a weapon now, i already have a +10 lightening mace but it lacks damage in some places, i can farm weapons i just need advice on which weapon to max i have +8 dark silverblack spear which seems to do good damge

The Obsidian Greatsword, Grant (kinda), and the Moonlight Greatsword deserve to be mentioned too. These weapons all have one thing in common- special attacks. The ultimate special moves on these weapons can be used to annihiliate groups of enemies and deal massive damage to bosses. Plus, they are tons of fun.These two weapons have really similar stats but the Drakewing has the special attack. Claymore. Super solid, just a great weapon. Pate's Spear. Super long spear, scales mostly with DEX. Really long, and has some lance attacks thrown into it's moveset for a really versatile weapon. Grand Lance.Solid weapons, the spear can shoot lightning bolts which is a handy trick to have in PVP, and the axe is a close-range monster. Lightning bandit axe. Wrecks pve. I wear the oik crown and have it perma buffed with sunlight blade when cooping and it is a monster. lightning infused chaos blade.

It is supposed to be a great strength weapon. I was using the standard Greataxe on a greataxe or greathammer only run but it isn't very satisfying. Dark Souls 3 Greataxe had really satisfying hits, made you feel like a murderer. Dark 2's Greataxe feels like I am chopping at a swarm of gnats. 4.Sunlight Blade, Crystal Magic Weapon, and Flame Weapon are all as strong as Dark/Resonant Weapon, for their respected elements. As far as viability in combat goes, Dark/Resonant Weapon is still probably the best, because so few armors have high Dark resistance. In terms of PvE too, very few enemies and bosses have Dark resistance.
Estoc has more length, shield piercing effect, and a special R2. It may not have as much counter damage as the Rapier, but Dex scaling is hardly ever useful, so the Estoc can get a little more oomph with its higher strength scaling. The mace will happily carry you throughout the entire game. Particularly at SL1. Lightning infusions are again fairly good in DS2, same as DS1. Although different scaling applies so elemental infusions are kinda optional in a DS2 SL1/low level run. 1. You can infuse your weapons, but it might be easier to just summon another player in your case. Infusions cause your weapon to perform additional effects with varying power based on your stats (Lightning infusion scales with Faith for example). Your best bet would be to use Gold Pine Resin.Murakumo is actually a faster swinging curved greatsword with much more reach than Exile and so is Carthus Curved Greatsword. Murakumo sacrifices roughly 50-100 ar at meta level, in my experience. Harald legion for all the damage.
