Weapon skill semi-staggers most small-slightly large enemies. Just depends on your build really since faith is the only scaling damage, somber it to 10 and have 30-40+ faith it should be your best short/sword. Although the final boss fight I did switch it out for my full upgraded wyrm sword, so idk how it compares on that fight really.
