2015. Engine. 3.0 Eco diesel. I have a 2015 ram 1500 with 3.0L ecodiesel. I think I have a problem with my EGR valve. For some months ago, my intake cought fire. I asked this in the ecodiesel forum also but I thought I would put it here also. The Jeep Grand Cherokee has the same engine, I believe. There are not nearly as many blown, damaged engines in the JGC. We hear stories of dealers saying stay away from the ram ecodiesel, we have a dozen in the back waiting for engines, etc. Not so with the JGC.

2016. Engine. 3.0 ecodiesel. Before i got sick back in February 2020. My Ecodiesel was doing right at 20,000 miles a year. Not a sign of trouble. The oil has been changed at 7,000 miles each time. When i bought the eco diesel, they were still using the 5W-20. As soon as they went to the heavier oil, i changed over.

Nov 17, 2021 · Yes the 3rd gen EcoDiesel engine uses the same CP4 based HPFP as the 2nd gen engines (DS body trucks). Just recently the recall was expanded to the DT body trucks also.
