The limit is set to 700, because going any higher creates an exponential chance of crashing when loading or spawning a creation. The game will always crash if you attempt to load a creation that is far above 1200 (somewhere between 1200 and 1300 is the limit), no matter how good your PC is. It's a lose lose situation for the devs.
