the best way is just to git gud. if you're not that good at invasions, it just takes practice and a build you're comfortable with. If you're struggling, get the dark sword and just spam r1. you're bound to catch a few people with it and leave with enough shackles. Or stab one of the other phantoms he might summon. Or wait for an invader and gank that guy, just be sure to get the last hit.
